The purpose of government is to create stability in the community, standardization of rules, and enforcing the rules. Without the government in a civilization, it would be complete chaos.

- Totalitarianism-- government where leader is not restricted at all
- Absolutism-- belief in principles of political, ethical, and theological things
- Democracy-- government by the people
- Oligarchy-- government by a small group of people
